The Wooden Door has come a long way from beginning as a dream
to an answered prayer for the Layson family. Emily and Michael Layson weren’t always
shop owners, they both dedicated 15 years to their careers and starting their
family in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Emily had this long time dream of opening
her own home interior shop and after her years working in healthcare, took
the leap of faith that became The Wooden Door. It soon became clear that they
had to have more space. After their first opening in 2015, they doubled in size
in 2017, then again into what seemed impossible in 2020. After throwing the
idea out there to Emily, Michael soon got the approval from the bank to make a
move on the old Fred’s building off HWY 305. The Wooden Door truly is
“a 20 year dream come true.”
